Albertsons has added For U Travel, a booking service for both air and non-air travel, into its For U loyalty program. Powered by Expedia, the feature provides travel planning as well as members-only deals on flights, hotels, car rentals and vacation packages, plus up to 5% cash back for use toward grocery purchases. Members of Albertsons’ paid FreshPass loyalty program who use the service can earn up to 10% cash back.
“At Albertsons, we know saving money and stretching budgets is more important than ever, which is why we’re always looking for new ways to bring additional value and ease to our customers,” said Manjari Mehrotra, VP, Loyalty for Albertsons Cos. in a statement. “For U Travel extends our loyalty experience beyond the grocery store and rewards our customers for something they already do — travel.”
“At Expedia Group, our mission is to make travel accessible and rewarding for everyone, and partnering with Albertsons Cos. allows us to reach travelers where they already shop,” said Carolina Cabero Manrique, SVP of Private Label Solutions for Expedia Group in a statement. “From our 2025 Traveler Value Index, we found that 82% of consumers are interested in booking travel through a non-travel loyalty program, like For U Travel.”
Earlier this month Albertsons brought the Google Cloud Conversational Commerce agent to market via its Ask AI tool, making it accessible via the search bar in all the retailer’s banner store apps.
