1-800-Flowers.com, known for curing gift-giving headaches for millions of people, has bought itself a present: the SmartGift intelligent gifting solution.
SmartGift enables brands and corporations to engage consumers, employees and prospects by providing a premium digital gifting experience within a unified platform, allowing users to send, track and manage gifts and recognition campaigns. In June 2020 SmartGift was awarded a patent for its technology.
“Personal and professional relationships are fortified through meaningful gestures,” said Chris McCann, CEO of 1-800-Flowers.com in a statement. “With the addition of SmartGift to the 1-800-Flowers.com portfolio, we are continuing to expand and innovate our gifting capabilities.”
SmartGift Founder and CEO Bernd Strenitz will join 1-800-Flowers.com as VP of SmartGift. No financial details of the transaction were available.

1-800-Flowers.com has been expanding its offerings in recent months, debuting its “Gifts & More” marketplace in January and offering verses honoring mom written by ChatGPT in April.
