Kate Spade New York has named Jonathan Saunders Executive Creative Director, effective Aug. 26.
Saunders, who has 20 years of experience at brands such as Diane Von Furstenburg, Calvin Klein, Tiffany & Co., Pucci and Alexander McQueen was most recently the Chief Creative Director at & Other Stories, according to a news release.
“Kate Spade has always stood for positivity, femininity and a touch of wit,” said Eva Erdmann, CEO of Kate Spade New York, in a statement. “Jonathan shares our consumer obsession, and he understands the heart of our brand. He’s also a collaborative leader and I’m excited to work together to introduce an uplifting vision of luxury to a new generation of consumers.”
Saunders will lead product design, visual identify and will partner closely with Erdmann.

Saunders was born in Glasgow, Scotland and graduated from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London. He will work from the Kate Spade headquarters in Hudson Yards.
Tapestry, formerly known as Coach, Inc., acquired the Kate Spade brand in 2017. Kate Spade New York was founded in 1993.
