Copenhagen Airport Enhances Omnichannel Abilities Of Resident Retailers

Published: March 21, 2016

Copenhagen International Airport has tapped Episerver to help drive digital innovation initiatives geared to busy travelers, including access to travel information and airport services. Since retail purchases account for 50% of its revenues, the Airport is leveraging Episerver’s Digital Experience Cloud platform to add omnichannel capabilities to its e-Commerce presence. For example, the Episerver platform allows travelers to order duty-free items online and pick them up in-store.

Other features include:

  • A responsive design available in both English and Danish;
  • Easy access to flight and passenger information;
  • The ability to research and book parking and ground transportation; and
  • The ability to access information about CPH Advantage, a members-only hospitality lounge.

“The Copenhagen Airport is a trailblazer in defining a next-gen digital experience for today’s travelers, truly revolutionizing how we interact and engage with airport services,” said Jakob Bartholdy, Senior Digital Business Manager at Episerver in a statement. “In the digital age, ‘know your customer’ translates into knowing precisely who needs what at which moment in time. With Episerver as the technology foundation, Copenhagen Airport has managed to create a smooth and personalized omnichannel customer journey.”

In addition to the Digital Experience Cloud platform, Copenhagen International Airport is leveraging InRiver technology, a Product Information Management (PIM) provider that is conceptualized and implemented by Valtech.
