Fashion retailer New York & Company and Cotopaxi, which sells responsibly made outdoor apparel and gear, each have leveraged the Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS) solution from ThredUp. New York & Company customers will now be able to resell gently used items for credit both online and in-store. Cotopaxi has activated a similar Clean Out program as well as creating a dedicated resale shop on its site.

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to deliver value to our customers,” said Laura Cantor, VP of Marketing and Ecommerce at New York & Company in a statement. “Partnering with ThredUp gives our community an easy way to earn credit toward new favorites while taking part in more sustainable shopping practices.”

In a LinkedIn post, Cotopaxi Co-founder Stephan Jacob said: “We’re proud of the Cotopaxi Resale program as it gives customers the opportunity to extend the life of our products. Moving from a linear ‘take, make, sell’ model to a more circular approach is central to our ethos of sustainable gear stewardship. It extends product lifespan and reduces carbon impact at the midpoint of our products’ lifecycle.”

In May 2025 ThredUp made its Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS) solution free and open source, and in September 2025 ThredUp debuted new branding and an array of tools for buyers and sellers on its own resale marketplace. ThredUp Chief Strategy Officer Alon Rotem shared what’s fueling resale’s rise on a recent episode of the Retail Remix podcast.
