Michaels Amps Up Eccentricity and Glamour with Jonathan Adler Partnership

Published: April 3, 2026

Crafts retailer Michaels has thrown in its lot with potter and designer Jonathan Adler, launching an exclusive collection of home décor, crafting and entertaining items in-store and online starting April 17. The launch will feature exclusive Jonathan Adler craft kits, allowing Michaels customers to create their own home-grown masterpieces, and all the products will feature Adler’s signature “Modern American Glamour” aesthetic.

“I’m a craftsperson first and foremost, and Michaels is the center of craft, creativity and color,” said Adler in a statement. “I want everything I make to make you feel even more eccentric and glamorous than you already are, and my collection with Michaels is no different. I brought my favorite colors, patterns and motifs to the collection, giving every creator the tools they need to express their own personality.”

In addition to exclusive Jonathan Adler craft kits across diamond art and guided crafts, the assortment will include:

  • High-Design Blueprints: New unfinished surfaces providing a sophisticated starting point for customers, including Jonathan’s iconic silhouettes that can be personalized with their own colors and finishes;
  • Entertainment essentials such as bold table settings and unique statement pieces; and
  • Signature home accents such as decorative frames in Jonathan’s signature patterns.

Michaels has eagerly stepped into the void left by the bankruptcies of Joann and Party City, purchasing the Joann IP, expanding its party assortment and adding shop-in-shops focused on sewing and knitting. Last month Michaels revamped its loyalty program with a new 9% rewards tier and plans to launch the program in Canada.
