NRF, Macy’s and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) came together for a special event supporting the NRF Foundation’s RISE Up training and credentialing program and the BGCA’s workforce initiative. The event at the Mall of Millenia in Orlando, Fla., provided 20 young adults from local Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida with an educational opportunity to learn firsthand about retail careers and receive individualized sessions for professional development.
RISE Up provides foundational employability skills to help people land jobs and get promoted in retail and beyond. The current curriculum and exams were developed in collaboration with more than 20 retailers including Walmart, Macy’s, The Home Depot, Burlington Stores, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Nordstrom.
In addition to the training, 20 Macy’s locations provided $100 gift cards to participants to purchase items for their professional wardrobes. Check out more photos from the event in the gallery below.
