Dollar Tree has made three C-suite appointments following the departure earlier this month of Rick Dreiling, who, citing health reasons, stepped down from his roles as Chairman and CEO of Dollar Tree. The low-price retailer has promoted Steve Schumacher to EVP and Chief People Officer; he had been doing the latter job on an interim basis for the past six months. Schumacher joined Dollar Tree in 2018 and brings nearly 20 years of HR experience, including his role as SVP of Human Resources at Dollar Tree prior to taking on the Interim Chief People Officer title.
Additionally, the company promoted Jocelyn “Jocy” Konrad to the post of Chief of Dollar Tree Stores and Enterprise Store Operations, and Jason Nordin as President of Family Dollar Stores. Nordin will play a key leadership role in the strategic review of this struggling division that began in June 2024. The review was initiated following Dollar Tree’s March 2024 announcement that it would be closing 600 Family Dollar stores by August 2024.
Konrad has more than 30 years of operational experience, including serving as EVP and Chief Pharmacy Officer at Rite Aid as well as holding senior management positions at Eckerd Pharmacy and Thrift Drug.
“In just over a year, Jocy has unlocked substantial value for the Family Dollar business, delivering on financial commitments, elevating the brand and exceeding operational experiences for the banner,” said Michael Creedon, Interim CEO of Dollar Tree, Inc. in a statement.

Prior to joining Dollar Tree, Nordin was COO of Pilot Company, where he led 23,000 associates at the company’s 650+ travel centers and QSRs across the U.S. and Canada.
“In his time overseeing the Dollar Tree banner, Jason has shown a deep commitment to both people and performance, which has not only strengthened our store operations but has also fostered a culture rooted in our core values,” said Creedon. “Jason’s operational expertise, business agility and financial acumen will be instrumental in guiding the next chapter for Family Dollar.”
