Tractor Supply is adding to its animal care offerings with the acquisition of VIP Petcare, a mobile veterinary care provider operating community clinics in about 2,700 retail locations — including 1,700 Tractor Supply stores — across 39 states. Tractor Supply purchased the company from PetIQ, a Bansk Group company; financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

With this acquisition, Tractor Supply is seeking to provide end-to-end pet care spanning veterinary services, pharmacy, pet services and retail, and it already has set up many of the building blocks of this omnichannel offering. Tractor Supply had a longtime partnership with Allivet for prescription fulfillment, and then it acquired the company in 2024.
In April 2025 Tractor Supply launched Tractor Supply Rx, with features including automatic delivery of pet medications through the Autoship program, and at Tractor Supply stores, pets can get washed and groomed at Petsense by Tractor Supply. Now, the offering will include VIP Petcare’s in-store veterinary clinics and 24/7 vet access.
“By bringing together VIP Petcare’s leading veterinary services platform with Tractor Supply’s nationwide footprint, Neighbor’s Club loyalty program and Allivet’s digital pharmacy capabilities, we are creating meaningful opportunities to further leverage our pet care portfolio through a differentiated omnichannel offering,” said Hal Lawton, President and CEO of Tractor Supply in a statement. “We believe this transaction strengthens our long-term competitive positioning while leveraging existing infrastructure and customer relationships in a capital-efficient manner.”
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Eagle, Idaho, VIP Petcare hosts more than 60,000 community veterinary clinics and serves more than one million pets annually through a network of about 2,500 contracted veterinarians and 36 field offices across 39 states. Operating under the VIP Petcare and PetVet brands, the company runs 90-minute community clinics at host retail locations delivering preventive care including vaccines, diagnostic testing flea, tick and heartworm prevention, deworming, microchipping and nail trimming, at price points that are less than half of a traditional veterinary visit.
“Tractor Supply has been our largest and most strategic retail partner for more than a decade, and the cultural and operational fit is exceptional,” said Ari Macerollo, VP and Head of Veterinary Services at VIP Petcare in a statement. “Joining Tractor Supply gives our veterinarians, field teams and pet parents an even stronger platform to continue delivering hiqh-quality, affordable veterinary care to communities across the country.”
Tractor Supply has been opening new stores at the rate of approximately 100 annually, and in January 2026 the retailer opened its 2400th store in Aiken, S.C.
