Tractor Supply has been opening new stores at a pace of approximately 100 locations per year, and 2026 will be no different. The rural lifestyle retailer kicked off the year with the opening of its 2,400th store, in Aiken, S.C. The Jan. 9 opening was one of four Tractor Supply stores to open during the first two weeks of 2026.
Aiken is a community with a strong equestrian heritage, and Tractor Supply marked the occasion of the store opening with a $2,400 donation for equine rescue. Additionally, on Jan. 10 the store hosted members of the Aiken community with an antique tractor show, face painting, a petting zoo and more in partnership with local vendors.
“At Tractor Supply, everything starts with the communities we serve and the customers who rely on us every day,” said John Ordus, Chief Stores Officer at Tractor Supply in a statement. “With its deep-rooted horse culture, enduring sense of community and passion for Life Out Here, we are honored to mark our 2,400th store right here in Aiken and are excited to welcome in our neighbors.”
In December 2024 Tractor Supply announced plans to open 100 stores in 2025, and in July 2025 the retailer said it would open 100 stores during 2026. As of Sept. 2025, the retailer operated 2,364 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states and 206 Petsense by Tractor Supply locations in 23 states.
