Oil and gas giant BP has signed a deal to bring electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs under its BP Pulse banner to 75 Simon Property Group sites across the U.S.

This deal will include more than 900 ultra-fast Gigahub charging bays that support nearly every make and model of EV, with the first locations opening to the public in early 2026.

The specific Simon locations that will be included weren’t announced, but Richard Bartlett, CEO of BP Pulse said that Simon’s portfolio of shopping, dining and entertainment facilities across the U.S “aligns with BP Pulse’s strategy to deploy ultra-fast charging across the West Coast, East Coast, Sun Belt and Great Lakes.”

“Simon is committed to offering best-in-class brands, amenities, experiences and sustainable practices to our shoppers and the communities that we serve,” said Chip Harding, EVP of Simon Brand Ventures in a statement. “We look forward to expanding our EV charging options across the Simon portfolio with BP Pulse.”

Simon joins a growing roster of retail operators looking to turn their locations into destinations for drivers in need of a charge as EVs become more widely available across the U.S. and the U.S. government pushes for the buildout of a national charging network. Other retailers that have announced plans to incorporate EV charging on site including Starbucks, 7-Eleven, Walmart/Sam’s Club, Kroger and Pilot Flying J.

EV charging is one BP’s five “transition growth engines.” The Simon locations will join other BP Pulse placements already in operation or underway near airports and major metropolitan areas across the U.S., including at BP-branded convenience stores and TravelCenters. The U.S. is one of four core markets that BP is focusing on initially for charging infrastructure expansion, which also includes Germany, the UK and China. Worldwide, BP pulse has a network of over 33,900 charging bays and aims to roll out more than 100,000 by 2030.
