Amazon Announces Prime Day Part Two, Set for Oct. 11-12

Amazon sets the dates for its Early Access fall Prime sales event.

After months of rumors, Amazon has official announced that it will host a second Prime sales event this fall. Aimed at helping members get an early start on their holiday shopping, the two-day Prime Early Access Sale will take place Oct. 11-12, 2022 in 15 countries, including China, Germany, Italy, Sweden, the UK and the U.S.

The new 48-hour event will give Prime members exclusive early access to holiday deals, many of which will be tied to the retailer’s first ever Top 100 Holiday Gift Guide, featuring the “season’s most popular and giftable items.” The Top 100 Gift Guide will debut alongside the Early Access sale, but in the meantime Amazon has released a number of other gift guides for categories such as toys and home to help Prime members plan for the October sale. Prime members can set up personalized deal notifications and create shopping lists in advance of the event to make sure they don’t miss a deal.

The Early Access sale will take place just three months after the annual Prime Day sales event, which took place July 12-13, 2022. The new fall sales event reportedly caused some ire among sellers initially, many of whom said they weren’t given enough advance notice to prepare deals and get inventory in place, especially with the event following so quickly on Prime Day. Still, Amazon is promising hundreds of thousands of deals across all the top gifting categories.

“We are so excited to help Prime members kick off the holiday season with Amazon’s new Prime Early Access Sale — an exclusive opportunity for members to get deep discounts on top brands we know they are looking for this time of year,” said Jamil Ghani, VP of Amazon Prime in a statement. “And members can start enjoying exclusive Prime benefits and offers now, plus find gift ideas for the family with our holiday gift guides and this year’s Toys We Love list.”
