Sally Beauty has launched a new service offering free, on-demand digital hair coloring consultations with licensed professionals. The retailer piloted the Licensed Colorist OnDemand in two states in August and it’s now available in all 50 states.
The digital service connects consumers one-on-one with certified licensed colorists, in real time, to address their hair color questions. The virtual sessions take approximately 15 minutes; customers can choose whether to have a video consultation or text chat. Colorists are equipped to address all at-home hair coloring questions; they also can help customers identify exactly what products they need from the retailer’s assortment of more than 1,300 hair color shades through product recommendation links that will then populate the customer’s online shopping cart.
“Hair color is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and consumers are looking for a personalized regimen based on their goals,” said John Goss, President of Sally Beauty in a statement. “We are proud to provide a service that meets them where they are, at no cost, to help them achieve the hair color of their dreams.”
The new service is part of Sally Beauty’s larger effort to enhance its customer-centricity with an expanded services ecosystem.
