Men’s and women’s fashion designer Billy Reid’s 1,800-square-foot store in Edina, Minn. features floor-to-ceiling library cabinets, a built-in hospitality area, leather seating areas with pieces by Moore & Giles, vintage apothecary cabinets and cladded reclaimed oak walls. One of Billy’s own antique desks is used as a display table, and old photos and objects are featured throughout the space, which is designed to feel warm and rich.
Every space in the store is considered an important customer experience, including the beautiful bathroom and coffee/beer area. The mix of materials like concrete, dark wood, marble and rugs all create a comfortable place to relax and think about shopping in a new way.
“The idea of having a cocktail in a comfortable leather sofa in a library deep in a beautiful old home in the South was the inspiration for the space,” said Betsy Vohs, Founder and CEO of Studio BV, which designed the store, in a statement. “Each Billy Reid store is different. It reflects the architecture of the building and unique pieces that can’t be replicated.”
