Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s are expanding their same-day delivery service to nine additional markets following a successful pilot in 2014.
Leveraging Deliv, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s are offering same-day delivery in 17 cities for products they purchase online and through the brands’ mobile-optimized web sites. For the service, consumers pay an additional $5 on top of standard ground shipping fees.
Starting in August 2015, same-day delivery will be implemented in the following markets: Atlanta; Boston; Dallas; Honolulu; Las Vegas; Miami/Ft. Lauderdale; New York City/Western Long Island; Orange County, Calif.; and Philadelphia.

Although Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s customers in the NYC outer boroughs and suburban Long Island will have access to Deliv’s services beginning this month, customers in Manhattan will receive the service as of October 2015.
The retailers initially piloted same-day deliver in eight markets last fall, including: Chicago; Houston; Los Angeles; Northern New Jersey; San Francisco; the San Francisco Bay Area; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.
During the trial process, “we learned that our customers appreciate the additional option of having their purchase brought to their home or office in a matter of hours,” said R.B. Harrison, Chief Omnichannel Officer at Macy’s, Inc. “It is an important part of our value proposition as an omnichannel retailer serving customers who shop our stores and websites whenever, wherever and however they prefer.”
In Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Bay Area, Deliv also offers same-day pickup to consumers returning items they order through Macys.com and Bloomingdales.com. Consumers authorize the return online and schedule a pickup time at a designated location.
