Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) will optimize and standardize sourcing across its operations with a platform from TradeBeyond that the retailer will use to manage numerous processes within its Global Sourcing function. The platform also will replace several redundant and legacy systems to support greater digital efficiency, unify processes and facilitate data transparency and integrity.
“We’re excited by the benefits that will be realized through our Global Sourcing transformation, which will support the growth of WBA owned brands globally,” said Adam Swallow, VP, Global Sourcing and Quality at WBA in a statement. “TradeBeyond will support us to deliver improved supply chain transparency, increased speed to market, a unified process for our operations and a platform to manage collaboration internally and with our supplier partners.”
Implementation has begun on an iterative schedule that will allow WBA to begin utilizing the platform by fall 2024.
Walgreens held a Supplier Diversity Summit in March 2023, and in March 2024 the retailer added jewelry, hair accessories and other Claire’s products to 4,400 of its stores.
