Denim and sportswear brand True Religion has hired its first Chief Financial/Chief Operating Officer with the appointment of Sandip Grewal. Grewal, who entered the role effective July 5, reports to True Religion CEO Michael Buckley.

With Grewal’s appointment, True Religion hopes to reach a $500 million revenue goal. In March, True Religion appointed Scott McCabe as its SVP of Ecommerce as part of its plan to triple online revenues and achieve 50% ecommerce sales by 2025 through transforming into a digital-first DTC brand.

“Sandip’s impressive credentials and innovative thinking made him the perfect executive to take on this important new role,” Buckley said in a statement. “He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in both private and public companies, including private equity portfolio companies, where he has driven growth, built best in class financial teams, increased operating efficiencies, and completed multiple acquisitions.”

Prior to his appointment at the Los Angeles brand, Grewal served as CFO of housewares supplier Bradshaw International since 2017. There, Grewal grew revenue by more than 50%, completed two acquisitions and led the Bradshaw’s sale to Arbor Investments in 2021. He also previously worked with Dr. Fresh LLC, where he served as CFO and led the 2017 sale of the company to High Ridge Brands Co.

“I am excited to join True Religion as it continues its remarkable transformation,” Grewal said in a statement. “It’s a brand that, after 20 years, has such a bright future ahead. I look forward to working with Michael and the rest of the team to help unlock even greater growth and value creation.”
