Toys ‘R’ Us Studios is partnering with Fox Alternative Entertainment to develop a reality competition show, Toys ‘R’ Us Family Faceoff, that will feature families competing inside a “larger than life” toy store and interacting with a range of nostalgic and popular toys and games. The retailer is partnering with Known Originals and the unscripted production arm of Fox Entertainment Studios, according to reporting in Deadline that was confirmed by Toys ‘R’ Us brand owner WHP Global on LinkedIn.
“Toys ‘R’ Us Family Faceoff represents an evolution of the family-friendly competition genre, appealing to fans who love the iconic toys and games we all grew up with…and some new ones as well,” Allison Wallach, Head of Unscripted at Fox Entertainment Studios told Deadline. “Add to that Toys ‘R’ Us at the center of it all, with larger-than-life challenges that integrate the world’s most favorite toys and games, and it will be an hour of fun for the whole family.”
WHP Global has been moving into content production in recent months. In June 2024 Toys ‘R’ Us Studios used a text-to-video tool from OpenAI to create an origin film for the brand.
