Bob’s Discount Furniture will open 20 new stores this year, including the retailer’s first foray into the Southeast U.S. and its first store in Vermont, reinforcing its ties to its home base in the Northeast. The openings began over the President’s Day weekend and will continue through the summer and fall, eventually bringing the chain to a total of 200 locations.
“Adding new territories allows us to make a local impact on more communities by generating jobs and providing support to local schools and nonprofits, things that have been core to Bob’s since our founding over 30 years ago,” said Ramesh Murthy, COO of Bob’s in a statement.
The first wave of openings, in February, saw new Bob’s stores debut in Burnsville, Mich.; Winchester, Va.; Reno, Nev. and Davenport, Iowa. They will be followed by spring openings in Roseville, Mich., Bohemia, N.Y. and Montgomeryville, Pa.
Summer and fall openings will take place in Long Island City, N.Y.; Eatontown, N.J.; Easton, Pa.; Williston, Vt.; Troy, Mich.; Dorchester, Mass.; Sacramento, Calif.; and multiple cities in North Carolina including Durham, Fayetteville, Wilmington, Jacksonville, Winston-Salem and Cary. Bob’s also plans to relocate stores within the Newington, Conn. and Mays Landing, N.J. communities.
