Albertsons Deploys Fresh Food Predictive Ordering Solution Chainwide

Albertsons has completed its rollout of an inventory management platform specifically designed for the rapidly changing nature of fresh products, deploying the solution across its more than 2,000 supermarkets in just seven months’ time. The Afresh Technologies predictive ordering platform will power forecasting, inventory and store operations, providing department managers with easy-to-use ordering tools that leverage real-time insights.

According to Afresh, grocers using its solution typically see a 3% sales increase, significant improvement in inventory turns and up to 25% less food waste.

“Driving sustainability practices across Albertsons Cos. is essential to our business and the communities we serve,” said Suzanne Long, Chief Sustainability and Transformation Officer at Albertsons in a statement. “Our partnership with Afresh helps us better manage our inventory of fresh fruits and vegetables in support of our goal to eliminate food waste going to landfill by 2030. In addition, it helps to ensure our customers have access to fresher products when shopping with us.”
