Rite Aid Implements Crowdsourced Loss Prevention Capabilities

Rite Aid is partnering with Captis Intelligence, a provider of crime intelligence solutions, to leverage crowdsourced asset protection support across 4,600+ stores.

Captis Intelligence cloud-based I-4 solution is designed to unify asset protection systems within one interface, categorized into four groups: Intelligence, Information, Investigation and Identification.

The platform uses data from the Captis-operated web site solveacrime.com, which is a crowdsourcing system designed to identify unknown criminals in surveillance videos or pictures.

With the solution in place, Rite Aid has access to:

  • Crime information around a store location updated every 24 hours;
  • Alerts based on specific local crime activity and frequency;
  • Online and on-site facial recognition; and
  • Full access to solveacrime.com including viewer analytics, comments, visibility on tips and law enforcement investigation status of tips.
