Digital coupon marketplace RetailMeNot has acquired Pickie, a personalized shopping application provider for fashion, beauty and home goods. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
In an announcement on the web site, the Pickie team explained that over the past two years, the company has created an app designed to make tablet shopping more relevant and engaging “through personalized, tablet-optimized experiences.” Over the past few months, Pickie established a white label version of the technology to enable brands to create their own catalog apps for the iPad.
As part of the transaction, RetailMeNot will discontinue the Pickie app. Select staff from Pickie will relocate from New York City to the RetailMeNot global headquarters in Austin, Texas.
