Digital sports platform Fanatics has partnered with supply chain solution Quiet Platforms — a wholly owned subsidiary of American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (AEO) — to provide faster and more efficient last mile delivery options to its customers, including same- and next-day delivery.
Quiet Platforms’ “shared supply chain” solution allows companies to collaborate to solve common logistics, fulfillment and delivery challenges. By sharing logistics assets and capabilities with others in the Quiet Platforms network, retailers and brands are able to position inventory closer to end consumers and aggregate parcel shipments to drive efficiencies and cost savings. Among the more than 50 retailers and brands already participating in Quiet Platforms’ network are Kohl’s, Peloton, Steve Madden and Li & Fung.
AEO acquired Quiet Platforms in November 2021 as part of its ongoing effort to create an “on-demand, hyper-scaled operations platform that enables brand success” both for itself and other merchants, according to Executive Chairman and CEO Jay Schottenstein.
At the same time, Fanatics has been busy expanding its already large role in the sports commerce arena. In the last year alone the company has:
- Secured $1.5 billion in new funding in an investment round led by the NFL;
- Acquired trading card brand Topps, solidifying its move into the trading card space;
- Signed on to run the official ecommerce site of the WWE, as well as manage the league’s trading card and NFT programs; and
- Signed partnerships with Nordstrom and Macy’s to bring an expanded inventory of sports gear to department store shoppers.
