Amazon Access has added a new Cash EBT payment option for customers receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Shoppers in 18 states can now use these benefits to buy almost anything on Amazon.com across categories including electronics, toys, beauty and personal care, home and kitchen. Additionally, the benefits can be used to cover shipping fees as well as items sold by third-party merchants.

“Amazon Access was created to make it easy for customers to find discounts and programs that make shopping on Amazon even easier, and more affordable, like payment with SNAP EBT, Prime Access membership and Access Discounts,” said Nancy Dalton, Director of Amazon Access in a statement. “Cash EBT acceptance on Amazon.com is another step forward in expanding access and convenience for low-income customers.”

Payment with Cash EBT is currently available in the following states: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Idaho, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Washington, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia.
