After hosting successful pop-up shops with apparel brands like Abercrombie and Anthropologie, Pinterest is digging into the culinary world by partnering with condiment and sauce brand Primal Kitchen. The companies are bringing the Colorful Kitchen Pop-Up to Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City to showcase Primal Kitchen’s best-selling products and highlight Pinterest’s highly curated food and kitchen trends.

The Primal Kitchen x Pinterest Colorful Kitchen Pop-up will be a trend-centric experience where attendees can test dip and snack pairings from Primal Kitchen and even connect with some of their favorite food creators. The Pop-up will make the following stops through July:

  • July 17-18: The pop-up will come to New York City’s Flatiron Plaza, featuring cooking creator Carolina Gelen, who will showcase new recipes exclusive to the event.
  • July 23: At Chicago’s Pioneer Court, attendees will get to enjoy custom-curated bites, trend-inspired activities and more.
  • July 28: The pop-up will conclude at the Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles, with Jeri Mobley sharing cooking tips and inspiration, as well as unveiling new trend-inspired recipes.

To attend, consumers simply need to RSVP online; space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Connecting with Communities through Culinary Fare

The pop-up was driven by consumers’ heightened demand for nutritious meal recipes and more “clean” food products and brands, according to Sara Pollack, Global Head of Consumer Marketing at Pinterest. She noted that Pinterest has seen searches for “clean food” rise by 9,794% on the platform, while “clean snacks” and “high protein dips” search queries rose by 187% and 97%, respectively.

“These trends make a partnership with Primal Kitchen on The Colorful Kitchen Pop-Up a perfect match,” Pollack shared in a statement. “The pop-up not only brings to life Pinterest Predicts trend ‘Kitschy Kitchens,’ but we’ve also tapped an incredible slate of chefs, recipe developers and food creators to make bespoke menus based on Pinterest trends at each location, truly bringing the inspiration on our platform to life.”

The opportunity is also clear for Primal Kitchen, a company that believes “food and community are one of the most primal gathering origin stories of building connection. By partnering with Pinterest, the company is aiming to provide a “positive social platform” that will shape long-term food trends and decisions.
