RH has acquired two custom ateliers that serve the interiors trade: upholsterer Dmitriy & Co and furniture specialist Jeup, Inc. The Dmitriy & Co addition will support the luxury home design retailer’s launch of RH Couture Upholstery, while Jeup will serve the creation of RH Bespoke Furniture.
The retailer has hired Dmitriy Founders Donna and David Feldman to lead the development of the upholstery business, and Jeup’s Founder Joseph Jeup to drive the furniture segment.
“Today’s announcements, plus our previous acquisition of Waterworks, firmly plant four RH flags at the very top of the luxury mountain, and clearly state our intention of establishing RH as an arbiter of taste and design in the to-the-trade, luxury home furnishings market,” said Gary Friedman, the luxury home retailer’s Chairman and CEO in a statement. “These brands and businesses, thoughtfully integrated and amplified on what we believe will be the world’s most innovative and dynamic global design platform, will begin to fundamentally change the landscape of the interior design industry.”
In addition to expanding its product and service offerings, the company also has hired former Architectural Digest and Elle Decor Editor-in-Chief Margaret Russell as Chief Editorial Officer of the recently created RH Media. As the retail media trend continues to boom, the platform will serve as an editorial content platform covering the people and concepts that are shaping architecture and design while also establishing additional revenue opportunities for the retailer.
