Torrid Continues Building Out Executive Team With New COO/CFO and CTO Hires

Plus size retailer Torrid has named Tim Martin to the role of COO and CFO, effective September 12, 2022. The retailer also has named Hyon Park to the role of CTO. The new executives will help Torrid scale its business while building up its technology and digital capabilities.

Martin brings 25 years of retail experience, most recently as EVP and CFO of Guitar Center, where he was responsible for accounting and finance, real estate, sourcing, distribution and logistics. He also spent time with Lands’ End, Gap, Disney, Coldwater Creek and Amgen. Martin’s new role will put him in charge of all finance and operations at Torrid, including IT, store operations, customer service, real estate, logistics, distribution and supply chain.

Martin replaces Interim CFO Tanner MacDiarmid, who will continue working with Torrid on a consulting basis.

Park has 25 years of information technology and consulting experience and most recently served as EVP and CIO at Belk. He has spent two decades with retail companies including Tailored Brands and Gymboree. Park will report to Martin and lead the IT Team, including software and applications, infrastructure and security, governance and business intelligence.

Martin and Park are the latest of several new executive appointments at Torrid. CEO Lisa Harper joined the size 10 to 30 apparel retailer in May when former CEO Liz Muñoz stepped into the newly created position of Chief Creative Officer. Muñoz, who led Torrid through the COVID-19 pandemic, now manages product, design, product development, fabrication, sourcing, technical fit, creative marketing and merchandising.
