X2 Computing, a provider of mobile computing solutions, announced the availability of Mobile Picking, an order fulfillment tool that can increase the efficiency of product picking for retailers with home shopping operations. The order picking software was introduced at the 2013 NRF Big Show.
Mobile Picking, developed by TIantic, a European retail software solution provider, is designed to enhance product picking efficiency as well as deliver potential productivity gains of 30-50%, according to an X2 Computing press release.
The Mobile Picking solution “automates the planning process and determines the order in which products are picked,” as noted in the release. “[The software] uses store planograms and a flexible range of criteria including picking zones for fresh, frozen or chilled, storage times, weight and delivery slots. Flexible process management tools enable it to be quickly and easily reconfigured to take account of updated store planograms or changing demands.”

The suite is designed to run on Microsoft platforms and integrate with all commonly used e-Commerce, ERP and POS platforms.
