The Thomas Kinkade Company, an art publisher and now eTailer, has implemented the cloud-based Shopatron Order Exchange e-Commerce platform to support selling artwork online and fulfilling orders from authorized galleries.
Thomas Kinkade art buyers now have the option of placing orders online then selecting a nearby location for in-store pickup, or having their orders sent directly from a gallery. In addition, the company can “leverage our independently owned galleries to fulfill online orders,” according to Michael Vierra, Internet Manager for The Thomas Kinkade Company. As a result, the publisher is “eliminating channel conflict issues while creating a better buying experience.”
Shopatron Order Exchange specifically was designed to expand multi-channel sales by allowing manufacturers and retailers to fulfill online orders efficiently from local retail stores. In March 2013, the Shopatron Order Exchange system for processing orders received a U.S. patent.
