Saks Fifth Avenue To Open New Jewelry Concept

Saks Fifth Avenue is expanding into the specialty store category, with the retailer opening its third store in Greenwich, Conn. The new 21,000-square-foot store will be devoted to selling jewelry and contemporary women’s ready-to-wear clothing.

Saks has not announced when the retail concept will be fully open for shopping.

The new Saks Fifth Avenue store will be located across from the existing store in downtown Greenwich, which opened in 1997. A third location, which will only sell shoes under the 10022-SHOE brand, is expected to open in fall 2016.

In its existing store, Saks will expand the space dedicated to its highly productive women’s designer ready-to-wear assortment. The upper level of the store will see changes to its current layout, including increased space for vendor shops. A private fine jewelry viewing room also will be added to enrich the overall customer experience.

“With three locations within easy walking distance of each other, I’m thrilled that we’ll be able to serve our Greenwich customers better than ever before,” said Marc Metrick, President of Saks Fifth Avenue. “I am passionate about our core strategy of category dominance — providing a better, more authoritative assortment that allows Saks to be bigger than any one brand — and this additional space in Greenwich furthers our mission to do just that.”
