Quiksilver, a sports lifestyle company, plans to implement the Demandware cloud commerce platform on a company-wide, global scale. All three Quiksilver brands — Quiksilver, Roxy and DC Shoes — currently operate on the Demandware Commerce Cloud across North America, Europe and Russia.

The retailer switched from an on-premise solution to Demandware to improve product time to market and provide a consistent consumer experience across its three brands and numerous geographies.

Initially, Quiksilver implemented Demandware on nearly 60 sites across Europe, resulting in a 65% revenue increase in 2013. The company is now implementing the solution in Brazil and plans to move its Asia Pacific e-Commerce sites onto Demandware in 2016.

“Demandware illustrated early on what a successful partnership looks like, making the global consolidation of our digital commerce operations on Demandware a natural move,” said Jose Cledera, CIO of Quiksilver. “With Demandware, we are able to focus on our strategic business initiatives and enhance the consumer shopping experience. Demandware supports our global commerce strategy and helps us execute against it.”

The new e-Commerce sites are designed to showcase the Quiksilver brands and integrate content and commerce into the shopping experience. These sites include detailed product information and reviews, as well as rich imagery and videos used to help illustrate the brand story. The sites also allow consumers to shop by a variety of different categories, including activity and collection, and are designed using responsive design, creating a mobile-optimized experience.
