NCR Corp. has announced today that it will acquire Retalix Ltd., a provider of POS and supply chain software and services. The agreement is worth approximately $650 million, or $30 per Retalix share, according to a company press release. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 2013.
With the addition of Retalix, NCR is continuing its plans to enhance its overall global positioning in the retail industry, following the purchase of Radiant Systems in August 2011. Radiant brought a suite of POS hardware and software solutions into the NCR portfolio.
The Retalix acquisition will integrate a broader portfolio of software and services into NCR offerings. As of November 2012, Retalix software and services were in place in more than 70,000 retail locations in more than 50 countries.
“Retalix is a strong, strategic fit for NCR and the combination of our two companies will drive significant value for both our shareholders and customers,” said NCR Chairman and CEO Bill Nuti, in a press release. “Retalix’s market-leading software and services capabilities will enhance NCR’s retail solutions, creating a world-class portfolio of offerings.”
