Gen Z Set to Lead the Shopping Charge this Holiday Season

Coveo 2024 Holiday Shopping Unwrapped

Gen Z shoppers are 2X more likely to buy holiday gifts this season compared to the average shopper — and 10.5X more likely than Baby Boomers. But in order to afford all those holiday purchases, this generational cohort plans to cut back on experiential expenditures such as dining, travel and entertainment. In fact, 74% of Gen Z said they plan to reduce their spending in these areas, compared to 59% of all shoppers.

The best place to capture the attention of these generous Gen Z gift-givers will be on social media, where this cohort is 2X more likely to look as they hunt for holiday inspiration and special offers. To learn more about how Gen Z and other generations are planning to spend this holiday season, check out this infographic from Coveo.
