Circle K Owner Launches Summer Hiring Spree to find 25,000 New Workers

Circle K owner Alimentation Couche-Tard Wants to Hire 25,000 New Employees

Convenience store operator Alimentation Couche-Tard has announced that is hiring for more than 25,000 positions at its more than 14,100 Circle K and Couche-Tard stores and support centers across North America, Europe and Asia.

Among the job openings are store-level positions for customer service representatives, assistant store managers and store managers, as well as a host of opportunities at the company’s support centers. Cashiers likely won’t top the list of job openings though, at least in the long term — Alimentation Couche-Tard also recently announced plans to roll out self-checkout systems at 7,000 of its locations in the U.S., Canada and Europe over the next three years.

“Passionate, diverse and talented team members are key to ensuring a great store and fueling experience for our customers and making their lives a little easier every day, which is why we are ramping up our hiring efforts as we head into the summer travel season,” said Ina Strand, Chief People Officer for Couche-Tard in a statement. “Whether applicants are looking for seasonal employment or an exciting career with a dynamic global retailer, we provide the resources and ‘One Team’ culture to help them find growth and fulfillment and a global brand with an array of programs that create award-winning engagement among our team members.”

As retailers struggle with an ongoing labor shortage, employee engagement is becoming key to not only bringing in new talent, but also keeping the staff they already have.
