American Eagle to Expand Presence in India with 50 New Stores

American Eagle is planning 50 new stores in India via its licensing partner in that country.

American Eagle’s licensee in India, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL), has announced plans to open 50 additional stores across the country over the next three years. The news was announced in conjunction with the brand’s latest store opening in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

“American Eagle is an iconic global jeans brand, and we believe a strong market like Jaipur offers tremendous potential,” said Ashish Mukul, Brand Head of American Eagle India in a statement. “With stores across NCR, Hyderabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and now Jaipur, we have covered most of the major cities in the country. Having established a strong customer connect and a proven business model, we plan to open another 50 stores over the next three years with key franchisee partners to drive the brand’s reach across the country.”

ABFRL holds the Indian licenses for a number of other major brands including Forever 21, Reebok, Ralph Lauren and Ted Baker.
