TRP, a cannabis retail, cultivation and distribution platform, has opened the doors to Cookies Chicago, the inaugural Windy City dispensary from the popular cannabis company Cookies.
The West Loop location on N. Clinton Ave. offers a large selection of top-shelf Cookies products and a fresh menu for the Illinois market, featuring cultivars, vape cartridges, edibles and concentrates. The store also features a curated assortment of exclusive, city-specific merch designed by Cookies SF. Cookies has been lauded for its next-gen customer experience, which combines high-touch technology, creative merchandising and entertaining brand storytelling.
“Cookies Chicago is positioned to be both the premiere and most convenient destination for Chicago’s cannabis community,” said Brandon Johnson, CEO of TRP in a statement. “Located only 300 feet from CTA’s Clinton stop on both green and pink lines, and half a mile from the Chicago Union Station, Cookies Chicago is designed to incorporate seamlessly with residents’ commutes and busy lifestyles, providing unparalleled access to our premium cannabis products.”
The store will allow TRP to capitalize on the fast-growing Chicago cannabis market: 28 new cannabis retailers opened in Chicago during the 2022 calendar year and generated more than $1.5 billion in retail sales, according to the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation. The new venture also reaffirms TRP’s commitment to expanding in key markets while adapting to diverse state regulatory processes across the U.S. TRP worked with Mint Ventures, a social equity licensee, to open the store.
“We are excited for the opportunity to serve Chicago and our Fulton Market/West Loop communities,” said Shari Wilson, COO of Mint Ventures in a statement. “We have created a welcoming environment, with wonderful staff to provide the finest cannabis products in Illinois. Thanks to the State of Illinois, the City of Chicago and the neighborhoods for making this possible.”
