Zebra Empowers Associates To Scan Barcodes In Any State With New Handheld Imager

Zebra Technologies Corporation, a manufacturer and seller of enterprise visibility and data capture solutions, has introduced the new DS4600 series of 2D handheld imagers. The model series helps retail speed up transactions and deactivate electronic aisle surveillance (EAS) tags, and also serves as a document scanner.

The imagers are designed for front-of-store and customer service operations such as mobile coupons, loyalty programs and parsing driver license information for age verifications, returns monitoring and credit card applications. The DS4600 series also can help associates read barcodes in nearly any condition, including those on bulky items in a shopping cart or tiny barcodes in the jewelry department.

The tool’s document scanning capabilities can capture images of documents, as well as automatically orient, de-skew and brighten the image to improve picture clarity. The scanners are compatible with a range of USB adapters, mounts and holsters to modify them for use in any part of the store.
