Wakefern Food Corp. has named Erik Keptner SVP of Marketing. He has nearly 20 years’ experience in the supermarket industry and will oversee the Digital Commerce and Analytics, Advertising, Corporate Merchandising, Private Label and Own Brand and Social Media and Digital Advertising divisions.
Keptner was previously SVP of Sales, Merchandising and Marketing for Giant Food Stores at Ahold Delhaize. He also has served as EVP of Marketing for Ahold USA and SVP of Marketing and Communication at Giant Food Stores.
He will join Wakefern as ShopRite tests new out-of-stock technology, using Focal Systems shopping cart-mounted cameras to evaluate stock levels in a pilot at 50 stores. The software alerts store managers when it detects shelves low on stock, and also informs vendors of the best time to deliver replenishments.
