Target Names Former Walmart Exec As Supply Chain SVP

Target has appointed Gemma Kubat to be its new SVP of Supply Chain Engineering and Activation, effective August 6, 2018. She will lead the design, activation and ongoing management of assets that support the company’s global supply chain and logistics network, reporting to EVP and Chief Supply Chain Officer Arthur Valdez, Jr.

The appointment comes as Target plans to leverage its network of more than 1,800 stores by transforming its supply chain and logistics capabilities. The retailer is now offering customers free two-day shipping nationwide, rolling out Drive Up services and moving towards same-day delivery through the company’s acquisition of Shipt.
