Petco has made several leadership changes throughout the company, naming Brad Weston as President and giving added Chairman responsibilities to CEO Jim Myers.
Previously, Weston served as EVP, Chief Merchandising Officer and President of the retailer’s Unleashed by Petco division. Weston joined Petco in October 2011 as EVP and Chief Merchant, leading the growth of the Unleashed by Petco brand.
Prior to joining Petco, Weston held numerous leadership positions in merchandising for retailers such as DICK’S Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy and May Department Stores.

In addition, Steve Lossing, who currently is the SVP of Merchandising, has been named the new SVP of Operations. He will succeed Tom Farello, who is retiring in 2016 after nine years in his position. During his tenure, Farello led operational strategy and execution for more than 1,400 stores across the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico, including the company’s Animal Care and Pet Services teams.
As a result of Lossing’s promotion, Rebecca Frechette will replace him as SVP of Merchandising. She will take responsibility for all merchandising activities across Petco and will report to Weston. Previously, she served as the SVP of Private Brand.
“As Petco continues to evolve, these important leadership changes strengthen our ability to achieve our goals and move forward on key strategic initiatives, while also serving to recognize the talent and accomplishments of key leaders in our organization,” Myers said. “I’m confident the expertise of our leadership team will further enable Petco to become the most complete retailer in the pet industry.”
