American fashion company Brooks Brothers has opened its second store in Australia as part of its ongoing international expansion.
The new 213-square-foot store at The Emporium shopping center in Melbourne, is part of a joint venture with Australian company OrotonGroup. David Jones department store locations also will open Brooks Brothers concession boutiques, creating approximately 20 new jobs. The retailer’s first Australian store is based in Sydney.
Brooks Brothers is focused on expanding its network of retail and factory stores and currently operates more than 300 stores in 25-plus countries.

“Brooks Brothers is an internationally renowned men’s and women’s heritage brand established in 1818, and we see excellent potential in the Australia and New Zealand markets,” said Paulette Garafalo, President of International, Wholesale and Manufacturing at Brooks Brothers. “Melbourne’s fashion status in this part of the world made it the obvious location for us to establish.”
