Less than a month after buying analytics solutions provider Predictix, Infor has announced plans to acquire Starmount, a manufacturer of in-store systems including POS, mobile commerce and inventory management. The acquisition will help Infor deliver its CloudSuite Retail suite of cloud-based enterprise applications in support of “converged commerce,” which is designed to provide retailers with a single selling system for all consumer interactions.
After forming its Infor Retail business unit in summer 2015, Infor:
• Bought supply chain solutions provider GT Nexus;

• Announced a collaboration with Whole Foods Market to develop cloud-based retail management solutions in October 2015; and
• Purchased Predictix in June 2016, six months after making a $25 million investment in the company.
Starmount had 41% year-over-year growth in 2015 and has a customer base that includes Abercrombie & Fitch, Burlington Coat Factory, Perry Ellis and Urban Outfitters. The purchase price was not disclosed.
“The market is littered with antiquated software built 20 or 30 years ago that just can’t provide what modern retailers need,” said Wade Gerten, VP of Customer Experience & Digital at Infor in a statement. “They want alternatives, built in the cloud, with native support for mobile. This acquisition will help Infor bring such solutions to market faster.”
