Pet goods retailer Petco has appointed John Zevada as Senior VP and Chief Information Officer (CIO), and has named William Engen Senior VP of Retail Market Expansion.
Zevada brings an extensive technology leadership background to the retailer. He will be responsible for leading IT strategies, teams and projects, including business process optimization and enterprise program management office.
Zevada joins Petco from Restoration Hardware, where he served as Senior VP and CIO. Previously, he held executive positions at Guitar Center, Big Lots, Limited Inc. and Victoria’s Secret, among others.

Engen will be handling Petco’s real estate, construction and store design functions. He joins the company from Wingstop Restaurants, where he served as COO. Engen also held leadership roles at 7-Eleven, Circuit City and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Both Zevada and Engen will report to Petco’s Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer Mike Nuzzo.
