Mappedin has integrated its mapping and wayfinding technology into commercial IoT applications from ThoughtWire, an operations performance management platform provider. The integrated solution is designed to change how retail property owners and building operations managers oversee and guide partners, tenants and consumers through retail and other commercial building spaces.
ThoughtWire will embed Mappedin’s technology initially within its Smart Building Suite, which is designed to:
- Improve spatial awareness and intelligence of indoor spaces;
- Accelerate data collection;
- Overlay IoT devices on intuitive maps; and
- Make insights actionable.
With these capabilities, operators can identify malfunctioning connected devices — including HVAC, lighting, meters and sensors.

Within retail complexes, operators can create zones on specific floors to adjust energy usage patterns for different tenants based on their individual preferences. The solution also can provide detailed floor plans and directions to vendors — such as Internet service providers contracted to install fiber optics — to clarify which specific floor(s) to work on.
