Barnes & Noble Names New Stores VP

Barnes & Noble, Inc. has appointed Carl Hauch, the former COO of CityMD, as its new Vice President of Stores, effective immediately.

In his new position, Hauch will be responsible for the entire retail store organization as well as business growth, including driving sales, training, developing talent and recruitment.

“I am excited about Carl’s addition to our management team,” said Demos Parneros, CEO of Barnes & Noble in a statement. “He is an accomplished leader with a proven track record for driving results, and he is an important appointment as we position the Company for future growth.”

Hauch brings more than 20 years of global experience in the direct-to-consumer industry. Prior to his appointment, he served as COO of CityMD, where he was responsible for front- and back-of-house operations for the Urgent Care company. He also served as CEO and Managing Director of Starbucks Switzerland and Austria, and SVP of National Operations and Customer Experience at Advance Auto Parts.
