PCMS is partnering with Box Technologies, The Logic Group and Miura Systems to develop an integrated tablet, mobile POS (mPOS) software and payment device. Launched at this year’s NRF Big Show, the device combines a Cielo tablet with Logic Group’s payment solution, Miura’s chip-and-pin device and PCMS’ VISION BeanStore mPOS software. The system increases the mobility of store staff by allowing them to handle orders, stock queries and accept payments all through a single device.
PCMS also announced that Half Price Books is now rolling out PCMS VISION BeanStore POS software in all of its 117 stores. Half Price Books needed a system that supported its unique inventory requirements, which are focused on selling new and used books. The retailer expects that implementing the new software will reduce transaction times, ease training, increase system reliability and improve security.
“We felt strongly that PCMS had the best POS software to meet our needs,” said Mike Thomason, VP of IT for Half Price Books. “We also were impressed with the partnership approach that PCMS has with their clients. They have been highly responsive.”
