After “months of negotiations,” NetSuite has acquired OrderMotion, a provider of cloud-based Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) order management solutions, according to Andy Lloyd, General Manager of Commerce Products, NetSuite. OrderMotion brings more than 180 merchants to NetSuite fold. Following the acquisition of Retail Anywhere in January 2013, NetSuite currently provides cloud-based financial and ERP software suites to more than 1,000 retail companies.
“Order management is possibly the area where there is the greatest evolution for retailers in keeping up with customer demands,” said Lloyd. “We believe order management is a key piece in serving customers better.”
In addition to leveraging OrderMotion’s order management expertise on the back end, NetSuite also plans to tap into the company’s experience in continuity and replenishment programs. Lloyd noted: “This is an increasingly important part of the eCommerce market.”

The acquisition provides NetSuite exposure to Demandware and Magento users that currently are OrderMotion customers. Eventually, NetSuite will merge solutions from both companies into one offering, said Lloyd, but the timeline for that total integration is yet to be determined.
Going forward, NetSuite will continue to focus on companies in the mid-market that are challenged with delivering on the omnichannel promise in the U.S. and abroad. The NetSuite solution set includes multi-language, multi-currency and multi-tax features to help U.S. companies easily acclimate to foreign markets.
Including retail companies, NetSuite’s cloud-based solutions also serve more than 16,000 B2B, B2C, wholesale distribution and manufacturing businesses around the world. Recently, Gartner named NetSuite as the fastest growing top 10 financial management systems vendors in the world.
