STRATACACHE has acquired supermajority control of rival digital signage platform provider Scala for an undisclosed sum.
Retailers presently using solutions from either company may see added value from the transaction when it comes to building out comprehensive, engaging digital customer experiences within the store.
The acquisition merges the largest digital signage company in the U.S., STRATACACHE, with the largest international digital signage company, giving the former access to Scala’s global channels and its reseller and partner network and enabling it to augment its direct supply model through its channel partners.

The acquisition is also designed to bring significant operational scale and cost advantages to Scala and directly benefit the Scala dealer channel through an added commitment to additional channel investment, resources and solutions.
“This consolidation of capabilities enables better service of needs on the global stage through the combined strengths of these preeminent suppliers, each of which has been central to digital place-based media application and advancement,” said digital media industry consultant Lyle Bunn in a statement. “Current users of Scala will benefit from a deeper knowledge base and improved corporate stability.”
