CVS has launched a new app designed to serve as a one-stop shop for customers to do everything from managing their prescriptions and vaccinations to accessing coupons and opening locked display cases in stores.
“As a company, we are super focused on improving the health care experience,” said Tilak Mandadi, EVP at CVS Health in a statement. “The CVS Health app will make it easier for our customers to access and manage their health and care, save time and money, and make informed decisions about their health.”
Features of the new app include:
- The ability to manage prescriptions for the entire family across CVS Pharmacy stores, CVS Caremark mail orders and CVS Specialty pharmacies, with full details on delivery and fulfillment options as well as order status and cost;
- The capability — being tested in a handful of stores — to use the app to open locked display cabinets for easier access to merchandise.
- Faster, easier in-store prescription pickups for consumers with the generation of a personalized barcode to expedite checkout;
- A redesigned, personalized home screen that features a health “to do” list and recommendations, including reminders to refill medications, updates on upcoming appointments and savings opportunities;
- AI-powered search to help consumers more easily locate products, services and information from CVS Health and select third-party content providers;
- Simplified immunization scheduling for the whole family;
- Easy access to health spending and benefit details for eligible CVS Caremark and Aetna members; and
- Health and wellness content offered through external partnerships, including thousands of educational articles from Everyday Health as well as guided meditations from Headspace.
And CVS promised that this is just the beginning, saying it plans to add additional capabilities and features later this year, including:

- Expanded integration with Aetna, Caremark and other parts of the larger CVS Health organization to create a unified experience for consumers; and
- New digital partnerships to help consumers find the “holistic care and support they need for their health and wellness journey.”
“The app is the health concierge and guide for all consumers,” said Tony Ambrozie, SVP and Chief Digital and Technology Officer of CVS Health Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness in a statement. “With 60 million digital customers, we are excited to continue to innovate and bring best-in-class and first-in-industry capabilities to our customers.”
The new app is part of a series of enhancements CVS has made over the last 12 months to improve its customer experience, which also have included a revamp of the chain’s loyalty program. CVS Health also appointed a new President and CEO in October 2024, company insider David Joyner.
