Pirch Appoints Former Home Depot Merchandising VP As New CEO

Pirch has named Steve Smith, a 40-year retail management veteran with more than 22 years of experience in the kitchen and bath showroom business, as President and CEO, effective immediately. The appointment comes after the store’s decision to close the majority of its showrooms last year.

As President and CEO, Smith replaces Andrea Dorigo, who is leaving after nearly two years in the role. Smith carries expertise in retail operations, merchandising and marketing, with experience ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.

Most recently, he served as GM at VelaTel Global Communications. Prior to that, Smith served as SVP of Merchandising at The Home Depot, where he was responsible for leading purchasing, merchandising, advertising and store design for the company’s showroom division. He also spent nearly 10 years as General Manager of Sackett & Peters, a privately held home improvement center.
